Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Oak Ridge, TN

Conceptual and detailed design experience as well as design support for operating facilities, including site preparation, installation, and testing of equipment. Hydro-electric power plant experience a plus. Knowledge and experience with the National Electric Code. Design experience primarily in low and medium power systems, and process design on industrial, utility, or government projects. Additional experience in electronics, communications, security, and computer systems a plus. The projects require coordination with other disciplines. Current DOE or NRC Q clearances preferred, but not required. .

Qualifications:

• Interpret electrical design requirements and create original layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics; prepare simple one-line diagrams, conduit and wire schedules, panel schedules and lighting layouts.
• Implement specifications, tolerances, and safety factors into the design.
• Perform basic electrical design computations and analysis.
• Check and approve electrical drawings.
• Experience managing other designers.
• Provide work direction and technical guidance to electrical CAD drafter(s).
• Maintain regular communication with lead electrical engineer, clients, consultants and project management.
• Perform walk down inspections of power systems in hydro power plants and red line drawings.

Requirements

• Drafter: Associates degree or 2 years relevant experience.

• Designer and Sr. Designer: Associates degree with 7 years relevant experience, 3-D Models, and 2D Part Drawings and Assemblies. Proficiency using CATIA V5 or ProE required.

• Design Engineer: BS all experience levels. System Engineer: BS all experience levels. Must have experience with configuration management, specification development, and procedure development. Analysis software skills: ANSYS.

• Sr. Principal Engineer and Sr. Project Engineer: MS or PhD w/ 20 years experience directing engineers/designers; fusion equipment/ magnet design.

Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking an experienced electrical engineer in Colorado. This individual will have an electrical engineering degree, experience with C Codes and NFPA testing. The qualified individual will have experience in heavy commercial construction and quality assurance of electrical systems. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills. This electrical engineer should be comfortable working individually as well as on a team.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Oak Ridge, TN

Duties: The qualified electrical engineer will be responsible for the design and modification of power systems 13.8kV and less, including emergency generators. This electrical engineer will perform walk downs and check conceptual designs of power systems. This position requires design of electrical powers systems--including control, layouts, sizing and specification of switchgear/MCC's, cable and protective devices, and wiring diagrams and drawings for construction and cost estimates. The electrical engineer will also perform calculations for loads, short circuit analysis, lighting, and wire and conduit sizing.

Qualifications: The qualified electrical engineer will have:
• 12 or more years experience in electrical engineering and design
• 10 or more years experience in design of electrical power systems, layouts and specifications for construction
• Experience with calucating for loads, short circuit analysis, lighting, and wire and conduit sizing
• Knowledge and experience working with power systems REQUIRED
• BSEE degree REQUIRED
